Hua Chenyu and the “Mars Concert”

The Super Boy competition
In 2013, shortly before graduating from conservatory, Hua entered the casting for the Super Boy contest. During this show produced by Hunan TV, the young singer started his rise among the contestants. On his first appearance to the audience, he sang his original “Lyricless Song” that gave him the label of being like a “Martian” for his unique expression in the lyricless song. Two of the three judges considered him to be odd or crazy, but after the third judge Laurie Shang asked him a few questions and sang a lyricless duet with him on the spot. She exclaimed that “He is a genius! He knew intuitively how to express emotions through music”. Due to the recommendation of Laurie Shang and his other performance of “The Kill”, he made it past the first round of the audition. He later sang together with Laure Shang the song “The Star” in the final round on 27 September 2013, and Chenyu Hua eventually won the championship of 2013 “Super Boy”.

The reasons I love Hua and his music
I started to gain interest in Hua’s music on March 24, 2017, when I first heard his adapted song ” My Skate Shoes 2016″ in TV show “The Next”. I was impressed by his adaptation and his style of singing. His stage performance and his innate attraction totally pull me into his music. I love his music because it shows his inner-self, his attitude towards the world and his ambition. His deep love towards music is what I admire. What’s more, his personal identity is also why I love him. He loves to travel, loves to create, loves learning other’s culture and putting them into his music. He has a free spirit, he can express anything of his feelings or imagination into his music, and that make his music a multi-style music world.
